Here’s the schedule of upcoming Clubhouse events as of 3/24/21:
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 24
First up, on Wednesday, March 24 at 8pm Eastern is “Let’s Talk About Hook Up Culture and Digital Etiquette” with college students Christopher Wells and Rikki Schlott, recent college graduate Charlotte Broukhim, and Moderator extraordinaire Greg Ellis, who hosts the podcast The Respondent and a Clubhouse club of the same name. (I’m sure this will be eye-opening for me.)
An hour later, at 9pm EDT I’m hosting “Eating the Globe” with four-time James Beard Award-winning chef (and Emmy winner) Andrew Zimmern. Andrew is a TV personality, chef, writer, teacher and social justice advocate, and is regarded as one of the most knowledgeable people in the food world. We’ll discuss how navigating global food traditions opens doors to different cultures.
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 31
How can you tell if you’re in a cult? On Wednesday, March 31st at 5:30pm Eastern I’m having a conversation with former NXIVM cult members Sarah Edmondson and Anthony (“Nippy”) Ames. If you haven’t seen the HBO series “The Vow,” I highly recommend it. We’ll be talking about what drew them in, why they didn’t see it as a cult, and what broke the spell. Join us and “Let’s Talk About Cults!”
Later, at 8pm EDT, Future Tim Urban Causes a Tear in the Space-Time Continuum. Not to be confused with the American Idol of the same name, this Tim Urban is the clever “Wait But Why” writer and illustrator (and wise beyond his years human). As of February, his Ted talk about procrastination was the 5th most viewed of the main stage Ted talks.
OTHER EVENTS:
Monday, March 29th from 10am-11am Eastern, I’m participating in a conversation (on Zoom) free speech in the digital age at the American Enterprise Institute. (You can register at the link.)
Finally, on Wednesday, April 14th at 8:30pm in the UnCancel Club, I’m hosting a conversation with Vivek Ramaswamy about what he calls “Woke Capitalism.” (You can read more in his Newsweek opinion essay.)
That’s it for now! Updates (and an essay) to follow (eventually).
